Drifter,

I have heard a few horror stories about Fish-on holders, that they are friction based and that a couple of fishermen I know had their rodholders wear-out, loose their friction or whatever you want to call it. One lost his rod and the other just lost a fish. Scotty and Roberts rodholders have teeth (gears) on the part that adjusts the angle the rod is at so they lock in. Maybe I'm just being a little paranoid, it seemed to make sense at the time (LOL) I couldn't find any available til today. Just out of curiosity, have you ever had any problems like that with your rodholders? Thanks for the response gentlemen. Take care.
