Gold is useful. Slightly more so than paper currency.

Unless you need to wipe your ass. Then paper gets the nod.




Gold is just another fiat currency. A cow or a pig is hard currency. I'd say a good weapon with plenty of ammunition is about the hardest currency one can find.
