I inherited a number of rifles from my dad. I'll probably be keeping all, or most, because he built them. Currently, I generally bowhunt but plan to do some target shooting and, later on, hunting.

The question involves the scopes. They seem to be "too high" and so I need to raise up my head off the cheekpiece to see though them well. Do scope mounts come in different heights? Should I take one, or all, into a gunsmith to find out how to properly set up the scope for me?

I sort of tumbled to this problem when he and I went shooting once. He would hit the bullseye. When I used the the gun, I had a really pretty group 6" low and 6" left so I know I need to make some changes.

Thanks.
