well, i am back from the kalama. really pretty area and good looking waters.
come to speak of the canyon, who in the hell is going to climb down those cliffs?
well it is real nice down by the beginners hole on sat. aboyt 12:00 i sat down just above and saw bankies and boaters hit and pull out some wounderful fish, i do not understand why bankie standing on rocks do not bring nets with them. half of the people whom hit fish had to try to hand grab or wait for someone else to try to bring a net over to them?
sunday was a different day, more clouds and rain and fish were off some. did get a good laugh, should not laugh at some one's else pain, but it looked so funny, there was this drift boat with 2 guy just below beginners in the head riffles. younger guy up front hooks into an nice king, all over the water, flying high. the older guy makes him go to the back of the boat so he can throw out while the other guy is fighting a fish. so the older guy throws into the same spot and bang, a double up. only now the younger guy is pulling real hard, the fish went down into the fast water going down stream. he is reefing so hard he crackers it off, then he falls ass over tea kettle backwards into the tail of boat, rod get flipped out into the river. he fishes it out the older guy looses his fish looking at his boat buddie. poor guy came up holding his wrist, thumped it hard on the aluminum boat gunnel. all i could see were the soles of his boots, looked like slow motion.
well i had a couple of good hits, not use to the light bite of the these big fish, took the bottom right out of my shrimp bag, came off the egg loop and was just hanging from the hook. close as i got all 2 days. thanks for all the info prior. i will be back.
