You can ship any firearm directly back to the original manufacturer for repair/warranty work with NO FFL's/Fees required, other than the cost of shipping.

Box/package up your UNLOADED handgun and DO NOT include ammo.

Take it to your nearest major UPS distribution center. For us in the Seattle/Metro area, that would be the Redmond facility.

Let them know what it is and that it's going in for repair. Pay for shipping, they slap some labels on it, you pay for postage and away it goes. Nothing else is required of you.

The manufacturer will ship the gun back to your address. No FFL's are required for either party and there are no transfer fees. Not too sure I had to sign for any of them upon return. They just showed up at my door from UPS.

I have sent back shotguns, rifles, and pistols to the manufacturer for repair and/or warranty work/upgrades. Always the same deal. Granted I haven't done this since the passing of 594, but that shouldn't matter as you are not transferring your handgun.
