I've heard of the event but never knew what it entailed. That was great though, thank you. I love glimpses of history and appreciate the compassion and innocence of this one.

If this is a Christmas history thread then I offer this in return- I heard it on the radio between stops today. Winston Churchill came to visit FDR a couple weeks after Pearl Harbor on Christmas Eve. Both the president and Churchill spoke to the American people and Churchill attended church the next day. Although he had never heard the song "O Little Town of Bethlehem" before, he was noted as singing "robustly." I can only laugh at the thought of any current leader acting as humbly on any holiday.
