Hey Swami, also take your flyrod and fish the St. Joe River that flows into the S.E. area of the Lake. It heads up in the Bitteroot Mountains and is beautiful country. Used to have lots of trophy sized trout. Still has a few big ones and plenty of decent ones there. The famed Bing Crosby had a vacation home near the Lake, and I've heard from locals that he used to bring other celebrity outdoorsmen, such as Phil Harris, up the St. Joe to cast flies and smoke his pipe. Worth a look. Btw, it's the only place I've ever been charged by a bear. And I'm from Montana before Oregon and been to AK & BC several times near bears with no probs. It was a black boar and fortunately it was a false charge stopping several feet short by the banks of the St. Joe. I was ready to waste a flyrod across his face but only wound up having to clean my shorts! - RT
