Made the trip up to Olympia today. There were many more normal people at the anti 594 rally than the news reports would lead you to believe, but of course, guess who they took pictures of. Probably about 200-250 people in attendance.

During my meeting with Brian Blake this morning, as well as a few others, look for a number of bills to be introduced this session that start chipping away at the weaknesses of I-594.

Specifically:
1. CPL as a waiver for a background check. There are a few ideas being batted around.
2. Transfers within the framework of "hunting" to be defined, like the situation of hunting put and take birds with kids on private property. (no license, hunter ed, or other permissions required)
3. What constitutes a transfer and defining specific timelines
4. Shooting on private property, private range, other places.
5. Defining the phrase "the weapon shall remain there at all times".
6. Defining "other legal entities" in favor of all trusts including firearms trusts.
7. Complete repeal of I-594.
and so on.

Two bills that hit the info sheet today were 1193 and 1245. http://apps.leg.wa.gov/billinfo/

There will be more.
