I think the 300 has the same threads but if your oil drain plug is down under the lower cowling you will still make a mess when you take out the plug, even when you full tilt the 300 oil will spill.

At least it did on a 225 that I tried to do. So up to 150 hp all is good. After that I just do not know. Just don't know why Yamaha put that drain plug down under that cowling??
