I saw the SR-71 at the Abbotsford, BC air show years ago. It wasn't as big as I expected it to be, and its skin had gaps in it, presumably so it could expand with the heat generated from going in the neighborhood of 3k mph.

It didn't fly at the show, but looked crazy even sitting still.

Man, I wanted to see that thing fly.
