I forget the name of the law but it basically states computing power doubles every 16 months while the price drops in half. Since this has held true since the '60's you can run the math and determine what month Silicon Valley goes out of business. At that time a processor chip will be worth less than a sheet of paper. And when that happens everything will be embedded with a computer chip. Wether we like it or not. So if computer technology is to have any future it will be in connecting a bunch of worthless chips to the cloud hoping it's so cheap we all will buy or use that connectivity.

Michio Kaku has an excellent book titled " Physics of the Future" so if like me, you don't really have a life, and find this [Bleeeeep!] interesting, it is an excellent read.
