To Tacoma. Area 11 is open for the salt water more than any other area in the state (I believe) and the fishing is pretty good at times. That takes care of the salt water. It is about 100-112 miles to the Kalama. The Kalama is open just about all year and has fish in it all year. Also the Cowlitz, the Lewis, and all those other SW rivers are within 2 hours or so of Tacoma. Traffic is always better going south through Olympia than it is going north through Seattle/Everett. Forks is 3 hours away. Hoodsport is an easy shot. Other places are good sometimes, like the Green (20 minutes); the Puyallup (20 minutes); the Nisqually (20 minutes).

Of course you can get to SeaTac in less than an hour. My wife works for Alaska. I have not bought a house in over 12 years. Real estate is higher than it was then, but you can most likely find what you are looking for, if not in Tacoma, then around Tacoma.
