After spending the weekend at Neah Bay playing with silvers I have 2 new favorite methods (relates to my previous posting on favorite techniques for silvers). We spent the day catching lots of silvers using buzz bombs. The best part is most were withing 10-15 feet under the boat. We would drop down so we could barely see the lure, jig it and watch for the fish slashing at it. Then we would slowly jig them up towards the boat. They would come up in schools chasing the lure. Many were caught 1-3 feet under the surface. Sunday, I went back with a 5 and seven weight fly rod. Using Clouser minnows, and decievers would watch for the fish working the surface and cast to them.... we caught bunches! If you get the chance, give these methods a try. And thanks again for all the ideas on the previous favorite methods post!
