Ya, Tectan is thin for the lb. test. The only thing I don't like about it is that I have to use a double uni knot to get 100% of rated lb.test knot strenght. I prefer to use a trilene knot becuase it's easier to tie. I buy my Tectan from Cabelas. Aerofly, does Orca dist. have a web site? RRR, I use both spinning reels and baitcasters, but mainly a Curado. I am always interested in others opinions of lines, what didn't you like about Gamakatsu line on a baitcaster? Salmontackler, Most of the time I use either 10lb. or 17lb for main line. When comparing 10lb. gami to 10lb. maxima I found the maxima is stronger, it's also .002" thicker, and IMO has more memory and is stiffer. I compared the 17lb. gami to 15lb. maxima becuase the gami is actualy .001" thinner than maxima. The maxima would consistantly break at about 18lb. always at the knot. The gami line would consistantly pull 22lb. and always break the line between the knots. That impressed me. All in all I didn't find any huge differences in all the premium lines and if your happy with what you are using, why change? I just enjoy experimenting.
