Just wanted to say thanks to all who have contributed to Bob's board since I started reading it about 6 months ago. I've learned one h*ll of a lot about river fishing and fishing gear in general and the icing on the cake so far happened today. I bought a G Loomis overstock blank (STR 1082) for a cool price from D & E Rods in Battle Ground (which I learned about here), built it myself (with help from smileforu's board) and bought a Shimano Stradic reel (which was the spinning reel of choice from a thread earlier this year) to go with it. I used it for the first time today on the Nisqually hooked up on 2 fish, one jack and one about 10-12 lbs. Lost the jack on a long range release and the 10 pounder at my feet after about a 5 minute fight. That's OK, there will be other days and other fish. Keep up the good work Bob!!!!!
Good luck and tight lines, Jeff
