Since it looks like the rain will be with us for awhile and the rivers may be blown from time to time, the beaches may be your most consistent bet. Almost any accessible beach on Case or Carr Inlets, especially in the vicinity of streams, should have cutthroat (as well as a few late coho). Olalla on the west side of Colvos Passage and Purdy are other places you might try. If you have a boat, the whole of the South Sound is accessible. Just remember that cutts are catch-and-release in all marine areas. Look for beaches with cobble bottoms and areas of eelgrass. If you're fishing from a boat, stay in close and cast right to the beach, many fish will hit right in the surf line. My favorite patterns include Mike Kinney's Reversed Spider in a variety of colors, simple baitfish patterns and I've had some good action this year on a floating popper pattern (actually a slider) developed by Leland Miyawaki.
