The Yamaha and the merc are the same exact motor so dont worry about the wich is better, just buy for the options and or brand you desire. Buy the electric start its awesome. Im pretty sure they all charge. But if not thats an exellent option. I can fish with all 3 scottys and the electronics on and my batteries are always fully charged. Bob D
