I rented the Lani Waller videos from a fly shop for 2 dollars and got a priceless amount of info from them. They show just what you are asking about. Although I have almost given up flyfishing ( i.e. skunkitis ) I will probably resume the art when I am much older and more patient. Right now Ill do anything to hook a steely even if I have to use bait. I feel to be a good flyfisher it is good to possess the skills of drift and float fishing ( bait, jigs, etc.) Plus the fact that if I hooked a steely on a fly before I knew how to play and land a fish I probably would have lost the fly caught fish. I still tie flies but never use them!!!
The advanced flyfishing by Deke Meyer is a good book if you have 20 bucks to invest ( check the library). -Good luck!
