Actually Rich is has tmade some good points in this thread. Trump isn't a true Republican and his base has a lot of independents and even old conservative dems that just don't agree with the far left. Trump called out Heidi Heitkamp a liberal when she is a moderate Democrate who has even supported some of Trumps agenda.

Eastern Washington is Trump territory with a lot of farmers. My dad was a farmer and he was a conservative Democrat but may have come off as a liberal to conservatives. When I went to college in Pullman I was a little right leaning or even Libertarian. Used to discuss Supply Side economics when Reagan was president but we always picked up the free cheese as poor college students. I even worked parking enforcement but that was in the 80s.
