8 foot, its not so much deep as it is getting your setup on the bottom where there are bait clouds near the bottom. Generally this time of year they are feeding on candlefish so anything that closely resembles a candlefish will take blackmouth. I have found that anything that has a green on it works well. Look for bottom structure that holds candlefish and you will do well.
