Hey, besides being a student of MALT LIQUOR you're also a student of history and philosophy. You know that the southern border states were longtime parts of Mexico. (Probably why so many Mexicans live there now, like they always have.) President Polk wanted a land grab, part of that Manifest Destiny thing, (like that really ever was a "thing"), so he waged the Mexican War for the express purpose of grabbing land. Mexico didn't attack us. Mexico attacked the Alamo - remember - and the Alamo is in Texas, which was part of, wait for it, Mexico. Just because a few disgruntled American immigrants to Texas wanted to be an independent republic didn't make Texas part of the U.S. So Mexico didn't attack the U.S. Mexico just attacked a rebel mob that was resisting Mexican sovereignty. Seriously? You would defend Texas? Sheesh.
