I was fishing the Satsop the other day, one of the deep holes that holds a couple hundred salmon. There were some kids (high school age?) fishing next to me and one of them foul hooked a 20 lb. chinook. I mentioned to him that it was foul hooked. He said, "I won't tell if you won't". My reply was, "You never can tell who you're fishing next to." Bingo - fish released. I don't know if this would work with seasoned snaggers, but with a young 'un, it worked fine.
