Most people aren't willing to devote the time into becoming proficient at drift fishing. Here in California most people just hang out at terminal areas and try and floss fish with 20 foot leaders. I was salmon fishing recently and these guys were flabberghasted that I landed a fish on a blue fox. One guy said " wow you got lucky ,I've never seen ANYONE hook one of these fish legit like that. This is a common theme that I see,people taking the easy way out because they either don't know better or they don't care. This thread is almsot hijacked. Sorry.
