Skeins, I think I saw that same color that you're talking about in a recent STS inset photo. I think that color would be productive. I have close to, if not more than 200 Kwikfish and I've never seen that color in the store. Doesn't mean it doesn't exist somewhere. I buy ever color available because I like to collect plugs; with some people it's stamps, baseball cards, but I collect plugs. Fun, although expensive as hell, but you can use them too. I find that I only reguarly use about a half dozen colors of each type of plug. I think the pretty colors are designed to catch fisherman and not necessarily fish*jk*.

If you want to try painting them yourself, then I suggest a paint called "Spike It - Dip 'n' Glo" which is awesome and available at Ted's Sport Center in Lynnwood. I will also suggest the use of an airbrush. Fun and relatively easy to use. I discovered a way to make the scale patterns that works killer:

I found a plastic/rubber dishmat with holes in it (the holes measure roughly 1/8" dia.) and I cut pieces off of the dishmat and then I lay it on top of the plug, shoot it with the airbrush and viola! Instant scales. Be sure to paint the base color of choice on first. Sorry for the rough explanation, if you need additional info. just holler.

Peace
