LOOKING FOR A FEW GOOD SPORTSMEN (AND WOMEN) The Twin Harbors Fish & Wildlife Advocacy NEEDS OUR HELP! They are sportsmen, just like us, and have a long history of fighting for recreational fishing. And just like us, they are not made out of money. They pooled their credit cards to get this lawsuit started, because they saw a wrong that needs to be made right. The Advocacy is hoping we can raise just $5000 to help cover future legal costs. We certainly can do that working together! For those of you that have donated to the legal fund, THANK YOU.For those who have yet to contribute, please do so. Every single dollar helps. The Advocacy is in need of just $5000 to cover costs. That's just a $25 donation from 200 of us! We have a lot of fantastic guys and gals on this board, I know we can raise this in short order. Please help. Secure donations are easily made by check, credit card or Paypal on the Twin Harbors Advocacy Site. CLICK HERE TO MAKE A SECURE DONATION. All donations will be used for this lawsuit legal fund, are private, non-published and are tax deductible. Twin Harbors Fish & Wildlife Advocacy is a registered non-profit.

I hope that THFW does math better than you BW! Do they need $5000 or $10000?

Thank you both. There is still a need, so please step up. Again, it is very easy to donate and it's tax deductible. The State is using our tax dollars so they feel they have "unlimited resources". Believe me, they would love to crush this lawsuit by simply making it run out of money. We need to insure we have enough in reserve to give it time to make it to court and let the judge decide. You know...there's a lot worse things you could blow $25 on. Hell, with the gas I'm saving because the tribes have so many things shut down I might be inclined to donate some more. Quit being a bunch a pu$$ies and send 'em some coin!

What's the nature of the law suit? I browsed their site but saw information about a number of issues. Essentially, WDFW is being sued for violation of the Open Public Meetings Act, and the Administrative Procedures Act, during the North of Falcon Process and the agreements for the List of Approved Fisheries. (LOAF).

Done. I wonder if using a platform like gofundme may help them raise more money. Thank you. Good suggestion, I don't believe the guys at THFWA have the time or experience to put that together tho. And I don't have any experience either. Also, I think go fund me and the other sites charge a percentage. That money could go directly to the fund instead. What we need is a way to get the message out to everyone. That is the hard part. This board is fantastic, great people and a lot of concerned sportsmen, but it only reaches a tiny population of sportsmen. Even with that, if everyone who has viewed this post donated $25, we could have raised $39,395 to help. It's not even 2% now. Everyone knows, court cases are expensive. That's why the side with the most money has an advantage. The THFWA lawyer is VERY GOOD at what he does. And he does a lot of work pro bono. But filings, dispositions, interviews and the rest cost. The more money they can raise, the better case they can present. That is the truth of litigation in America. Anybody with fund raising experience is more than welcome to lend a hand. It would be a tragedy for the State to simple kill this by making it run out of money.

WDFW will pay for it out of GF and License fees. Probably can't use Federal monies or local (mitigation) funds. The rest is probably fair game. Still wanna buy that license?

What really erks my nerves is that wdfw has set up a second meeting about sturgeon regulations, which they are striving for the publics opinion for. But when it comes to pacific salmon/steel and the tribes. We are left in the dark with the NOF process when us sportsman are a huge part of their funding. Then when the regs come out we all sulk and are disappointed. Here is an idea. The state should have all of their collected information and have regulations set before its license renewal time. So people can pick and choose what to purchase due to lack of opportunity out there. I'm sure that will never happen. The state will collect our money first then we are left baffled year in year out. Seems a little bassackwards to me.
