This morning I fished Scatchet Head, Possession Point, the Bait Box and Picnic Point.

There is a ton of bait in the water, even at the Mukilteo Launch. Right after launching, I saw a commotion in the water with some birds, and a seal came up with a nice little coho in its mouth. I took that as a sign of good fortune.

I had a follow from a nice coho that spooked at the boat while fising some kelp on Scatchet, but nothing else happened for me.

I was blown away at the fly potential of Possession, and Scatchet Head. These look like great areas from a boat. From the beach, the eastern side (Bait Box) of Possession looks the best, as the beach is very steep. Picnic was interesting, as it has just a ton of eelgrass on it, it literally looks like a lawn from above.

At the dock I talked to a gear guy who showed me a nice hooknose coho, and told me that he missed 3 others bucktailing at 10 am.

I think the fishing is warming up....

I have also thought of the bait box area as some great fly water from a small boat. I have been thinking of taking the tube out in Quillcene Bay off the river for some coho but, this weekend is starting to look too bussy for me. I hope that this is also going to be a great silver year also!

I forgot to say that I saw a guide, who will remain nameless waiting on the south end of the Bait Box with 2 clients occasionally casting.

My guess is that he was waiting for a school of coho to pass through.

What do you guys think?
