Myself and family have a week off in July. We’re thinking of a road trip to Montana. Can anyone lead me to the right direction or give me ideas on where we can maybe pitch a couple of tents, flyfish, hike, and horseback riding based on your experiences? Thanks in advance.

You could always go stay in the Yellowstone/ Grand Teton area. Lots of good fishing around there and only a couple hours more down the road. Many river around there just outside the parks hold lots of fish and have a lot less pressure than the parks(i.e. Wind River in WY) . Then again the rivers in that Parks are really good fishing. Try the Snake, Madison, Yellowstone, Firehole, etc. The parks are also alot of fun witht he kids, seeing the mountains, lakes, rivers, animals, gyesers, etc.

I just got back , there may not be any water left by July.

Rock Creek is our favoite, Eckstrom's Stagecoach Inn and Campground, river, pool, store and lounge within a mile.

Other than that anywhere else in the state. I fished up on the Missouri, 4000 fishies per mile averaging 16-18" , the guy I was with landed a 22" Brown

Ennis has somthing for everybody as well.
