I read the question, looked at what he had done and clicked NO.... Wait... Its me he is talking about !!! So what... I deserve the spanking.
Truth is, I switch over every year on or around oct 15 or so. I spend the first part of the year with the bug rod and hang out with a group of guys that have been doing it for a long time. As soon as catch and keep season rolls around, I switch over to the dark side. There is a reason for that. I have a lot of family and freinds that don't fly fish and they look to me to take them fishing every year. In my defence... I seldom ever catch a fish... I am on the sticks 95 % of the time. They enjoy it and that makes me happy. Also, here in Idaho, the Clearwater becomes a bit of a zoo and fly fishing is not as productive as soon as the water temps drop and the crowds show up. Sept 1st through Oct 15 its all about me.. Oct 16th through Dec 31st its all about everyone else. I do not steelhead fish at all after Jan 1st.. I will not fish for what I perceive to be boots on redds.
God, how pathetic... reminds me of when my son was little. We would swat his ass and send him to his room... So he would stand bawling at the top of the stairs yelling " I WANNA BE GOOD NOW, I WANNA BE GOOD "....
