Scheduled for #2 on 2/19. Most of my issues with the first one were sore shoulder and lethargy. Oddly, the should responded quickly to exercise. Even just running, with the swinging arm motion, reduced the pain. Sitting still increased it. Lasted a couple days is all.

Todd, That's pretty selfish of you to manipulate the system. Meanwhile people in their 80s and 90s can't get appointments. I hope the guilt burns as it enters your arm.

I have tried to get my wife and I appointments, but no luck so far. We are both 76, live so King County and there are NO appointments available anywhere. I did get signed up at Virginia Mason but they have not contacted us yet. Even contact my PCP but he says he cant do anything.

How did I manipulate the system, exactly? They told me to get one, I went online to my provider and found out where they are providing them, and made an appointment. That...is the system. Fish on... I made my appointment through Kaiser Permanente, two of my older co-workers received theirs this week, one thru Virginia Mason and one thru Blue Cross/Premera...just have to call around and find out what stations are taking appointments, and take one. Took me about a week of trying to find one, but only a short time to get an appointment once I did. Go here to see if you are eligible: https://form.findyourphasewa.org/210118771253954Go here to get an appointment: https://www.doh.wa.gov/YouandYourFamily/Immunization/VaccineLocationsThere are at least 50 places just in King County, and a couple hundred statewide. My old man and his wife live in Stevens County, signed up and got their appointments and their vaccinations all in a few days. Fish on... Todd

Shitt. I wanna get one too but I thought i had to wait longer. Follow Todd's "younger person" example. Tell 'em your common law wife is 14 years old. The incarcerated get top priority for vaccinations...

Signed up on the phase finder. It will likely be awhile for me based on my age and having no younger folks living with me. Hopefully more vaccine will become available and the older folks can get their vaccinations soon. I’ll wait it out until I get my notification.
My mom that lives in a care facility got her first two weeks ago. One of the ladies she lives with is 104 years old. SF

The multi generation household would mean if you live with someone in an older generation than yourself. By your rationale, every 50 year old with a kid in the household is eligible. Sounds like a flawed system. No wonder people eligible can't get the vaccine, people like yourself have taken advantage. I will only get the vaccine when I know everyone eligible in previous age and risk groups who want it, have received it.

Sitting still increased it. I think you're on to something here. Wife was vaccinated at the same time I was. She followed up with a couple sessions of chair yoga; lots of arm movement and stretching of arms. I sat and watched ball games, primarily moving my arm to devour snacks. She experienced no pain in her arm, and no other side effects. I had pain. After the next shot, I plan on trying...different snacks

Hoping I can get mine sooner than later. What I find very frustrating is how low on the priority list I fall, yet had to work through the entire thing while with absolutely no time off what so ever as "Agriculture Essential" yet will probably have to wait a couple more months to get my shots. At least I had steady income through the entirety of it. Could be worse I guess.

Todd - there was an entire article in the Seattle Times on what counts as multi-generational to qualify. Your case doesn't but it's not your fault - they sure don't make parameters very clear in findyourphasewa.org

All I can say is that the DOH guidelines say that if you are 50, and have a relative from a younger generation living with you who is not your child, then you are in 1B, and that's what my situation is. They specifically said grandchild, or nephew, and "not your child"...and that's what's up here. You don't get to decide for yourself if you qualify; DOH tells you if you do, or do not. Here's the question they ask on the DOH site: I'm over 50, my nephew lives with us. Not sure where the disconnect is here. Fish on... Todd

Todd, why are you researching these things in detail and actually reading the original documents to understand the requirements?
I'm sure Evo can provide a meme that will be more factual.

Because, one, I don't need someone telling me I am "gaming the system" by following the fuckin rules...they aren't exactly difficult to follow...and, two, I want everyone to get in line and get their vaccinations as soon as they qualify.
Our lack of any meaningful response to Covid-19 means that mass vaccinations are the only way we get our economy back on track, and that's good for all of us.
Get the shots.
Fish on...
Todd

So, the IHME is at it again. Making predictions, scaring people, being wrong. I can't imagine a job in which you can make a prediction that is wrong, make a new prediction, then change that prediction before it has run its course and then do it again. We can't do that in business...."I'm going to sell this number of something by this date" and then before that date change that number. We can't do that with anything in life, but the IHME is special and they do it all the time. Now the prediction is lowered to 5,316 Covid deaths by May 1 and 5,520 by June 1. Here's a suggestion.....STFU! Because after a year of being wrong, you now adjust your predictions to resemble factual trends and you want to take credit for it. If you were in the real business world, you wouldn't last a week. And of course the media today loves it....anything that is opinion is glorified. It used to be that the news was reporting what happened. Now most article subject lines include the words "possibly", "could", or "may". And most of you stand in line and drink that Kool Aid.

Do folks even understand how predictions work? They are based on what happened in the past and assume that what happened then will continue. With Covid, IF people act exactly as they did in the last 6 months, such and such will happen. If, instead, they all mask up, isolate, vaccinate and so on the something else will happens. And, if we go all "it's a hoax" something else will happen. The best one can do is learn from the past and use that to inform the future.
As a friend of mine, in fisheries, once said "All models are wrong but some are useful".
