How's the cool-aid?

Although I won't wander off into the Kool-Aid fueled weeds it was obvious to me, from the inside, that without ESA there would be no meaningful protection of habitat for listed species, much less anything else. At some level it is a hammer to force Gubmint to protect habitat.

It took the ESA listings and Jeopardy Biological Opinions to get the US Army Corps of Engineers to build the new fish passage for Mud Mountain Dam and Howard Hanson Dam (the latter still being in the planning and design phase).

I just remember that when WA defended itself in front of the Supremes on the Culvert Case that our AG's office made the claim that the state could;d blow away fish runs in the name of "progress". They lost that argument but you can see where they come from.
