Lots have asked for it, so here you go. I'll try to make myself available for a couple of shots per week for Q&A or whatever ... but they're open 24 hours. Two options right now: a Java based board at www.piscatorialpursuits.com/livechat.htm this is a freebie model I wanted to try upon the advice of Jennie at IFish. If it doesn't crash eveyone's browsers and it gets a lot of use, I'll get a paid ($30/month) version that doesn't have the really annoying animated gifs right where you're reading incoming messages ... jeeez, at least you can scroll down easily past mine! The second is at: www.piscatorialpursuits.com/chatframes.html This one is cgi-based and shouldn't crash anything ... not quite as fancy, but sometimes simple works just fine. I'd appreciate some input on these and please let me know of any bugs!

I like the java version the best. Its cleaner and alot easier to read and follow.

My vote goes to the java version format. But we need more traffic. No one was there to chat with.

Thanks for the nods one way or another ... one user emailed me and said it didn't work with his machine running Windows ME ... is anybody else runnning this platform and having trouble, or if you haven't checked it and you are running ME, please try it and let me know. Since Java seems to be the choice, I'll do some more digging and see what I can find for alternatives there. Chat software is very expensive if I opt to buy one w/o any ads, so I'll probably look at the interest and decide where to go from there!
I do plan on having a one-night a week deal where I'll host a live chat (the room will always be open for those that want to do their own) ... I'll take any feedback as to what night that would be best. I think Jennie at IFish does heres on Wednesdays, and as we have a lot of crossover visitors, we should probably opt for another night.
More info coming soon!

Bob,
I'm using Windows ME on my notebook. Just logged onto both chat options and entered a test message. No problem with either one.
