Size of fish, techniques, etc. will play a big role in your choice ... any more details that you could give for solid recommendation?

the fish run 35-45lb's but there probably will be some 55lb fish up there, the water is a bout the size of the cowlitz-or sol duc.

HMMM ... must have some sort of secret river with kings averaging 35-45 pounds (bigger than Kenai fish) ... but if that's the case, look at the 1023C ... 1021C is usually a good kinger rod for casting, but if the fish truly run that big, it'll be too light.
As for a reel, can't help much with spinning reels in that size as I never run spiining tackle that heavy, but if you're working with fish that large, I'd throw the spinning reel out the window and only go with a baitcaster myself ... 6500 or Bantam 50 or even a Calcutta 400 might be good options for you. Good luck!
