I have a friend coming into town next week that would like to catch a chinook. We've already decided that hiring a guide is the way to go, but are debating where to go. I am interested in fishing somewhere within 5 hours from Seattle that offers a good chance of hooking into some fish.

We will be fishing during mid-week, and would like recommendations on a good guide. I am thinking either the Peninsula or Columbia Basin would be a good bet.

Thanks a bunch!

Site owner and co-moderator here, Bob Ball, is one of the best but he will be in Alaska. Give another good Oly Pen guide an inquiry ...

The springer fishing on the peninsula is just starting to heat up.Fished today and all we caught were steelhead heard of some salmon caught.Give it another week and it should be pretty steady for salmon.

Give Jimmy Leaons a call. He is the poster of the message right above me.

He is a great guide although he might refer to another guide's client as 'Pretty Boy' laugh
