I have been searching on Tomic's internet for finding Tomic 84flg or 84 FL Ps plug, what looks like, but no luck.. I checked on Google's image for 84 Flg plug. I wonder they stop making it no anymore? I know that #600, #602 & #158 Tomic lures are good for blackmouth. How about Black pearl apex? Can Apex be behind flasher? if so, what length leaderis it? What"s the best technique for catching winter blackmouth? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks, Steven

Found it, looks like #84 looks like pearl with a gold and black screen hatch on the top. Really hard to tell the actual color.

I cannot find #84 on their internet site anywhere to send to you. Sorry
Go to Seattle Marine in Ballard and see if they have it on the shelf. They have the biggest selecion of Tomics in the Puget Sound

hey guys I have had great success fishing the tomic 603's 4" for winter blackmouth and 5" for summer Kings. I flat let my tomic plugs about 40 ft behind my release and fish them right underneath the bait schools. i have founf that the chinook love white and they like it near the bottom. I grew up fishing Possesion as well as the entire north sound. tomics kick butt

How about Apex (Black pearl) lure? It looks like a Cop Car, because of White & Black. Can it be alone without flasher? Does it goes better with flasher? What is leader length from flasher? Thanks,

Steven, back in the early 90's I met a Tomic rep at the resort I was working at, I was the only guide interested in plug fishing so he gave me a bag full of various plugs, I would guess 30 or 40 of them, I still have most of them and doubt I'll ever use them (diehard moocher), I'll dig through my garage and see if I can find them, if I have any 84's there yours. Scott As mentioned above, no flashers needed, I never used them with artificial lures (plugs/spoons) and rarely with herring, don't be afraid to put scent on them either, herring or squid butter, if I had to pick 1, it would be squid but don't tell anyone.

I also am on the same hunt. I am starting to conclude that '84FLG' is a Silver Horde model #, Not Tomic?

I think you're looking for Tomic 084 which is fluorescent gold, with green top and black scales. Rattle or no rattle.

The 84 flg was an actual plug number from Tomic. They have a glow belly, the back has two shades of green light to darker with black scales and they are one of the plugs I always have in my arsenal. Silver Horde makes an Ace Hi plug #535 that is the same color.

HH has it right, though the belly doesn't glow on the one I have here at home (would post a pic, but having technical difficulties with my camera). There was some of the 84's at outdoor emporium the other day. One of my favorite colors for sure.

After seeing that picture, I have ton of them. One tiny 3" and a 5". I ran the 3" Friday with shakers still hitting it. Amazing with a 10 or 12/0 hook it still gets it.
My guess is there are so many shakers after it, that one is eventually going to get hooked.
You should be able to go on tomiclures.com and order it. Biggest problem now days is finding big enough hooks for big plugs. I grab every one I can whenever I see them. I don't think Mustad makes them anymore. These need to be wider than the plug to work effectively. Stainless is the best.

Yep, Fishinnut is correct. I went to thier site and you can order anything you want and the prices are in Canadian dollars, just to make you feel like you are getting a better deal even!

....ah so..very funny..
Yes, the 84 FLG is real and is a Tomic... the "g" stands for glow, but they also make several others w pearl and white bellys - they ALL work! The pic is a very nice cut-n-paste closeup of part of my WMD..the poster will know...NICE work ! Really big hooks are not required, in fact I will often run 2 x 2/O custom tied in a short hootchie like setup for the smaller plugs and that works fine for BIG kings also - but I do generally move up to 7/O gamis for fish I expect will go better than 40 loose the flasher, although MarkMc says late season otherwise. PLENTY of goop helps. HH is right on.
