Floated the Hoh this morning from Willibie's to Cotton Wood. It was milked out and running at 18,000 CFS, The night before it was at 16,00 CFS so we thought we would give it a try. There was only about 6" visibility when we started and about a foot when we ended. It was really cold for july and it misted all morning. Bad river conditions for fishin but nice to get down their for a change. We fished K15's and threw spinners without success, not even a bite. We blew through it pretty fast because of the river conditions so we didnt fish very hard. Thats fishin. Ushually dont head down there for another month when it gets lower but we needed a change.

Headin that way on the 21st, hope things have settled down by then. How was the canyon? The bottom of it almost got me last july, it was very low then. Were gonna do upper quinalt, queets, and hoh this year and can't wait.

Caynon was the same as always. It should be better when you haed out. It is going to be colder next week so the river should drop and clear up. Should be some catchable numbers of steelies in there right now but it will get better when it gets closer to mid Augest with more wild steelies in the mix. Also ive been hearing of some nice Kings in there right now and the latter into the summer it gets the bigger they will get.

If you like to walk you should go up into the north fork above the campground you can either walk into the spruce trail or the upper Hoh trail which leads to the glacier. Some phanominal fishing up there starting in late Augest into early October before the first big rains. You get the chance of hooking into some trophy Dollies, HUGE KINGS, and some nice wild steelies. I know of a guy who got a 14# Dollie way up there a couple of years ago. The key up there is finding the right hole, you will find alot that look good but dont hold any fish, then you will stumple on to the one that has everything in it. We found one hole up there last year that we took multiple fish of each species.
