Any king action going on up there? It usually starts about this time of the year with the tail end of September being good, doesnt it? I feel the urge to fish in the ditch.

The one tooth wonders are already there snagging fish in the arse and dragging them out of the river and killing them.

I take that as a, "yes, there are fish in there." Its a bit of a drive for me. I dont want to waste my time heading up there if nothing is happening.

And yes, any river with an abundant run of fish (especially kings) draws large doses of renegade hillbilly fisherman. The Samish can be a fun river but it is sad but true a large percentage of the fish come in backwards.
