Some buddies and I are going to hit the Chehalis this week. We caught some fish last week, on plugs and herring, but I'm wondering if there is other gear we should try. Anyone have any suggestions? What colors and sizes of plugs do you like? Do you use Kwikfish at all (I tried one for a couple of hours without success).

We tend to fish below Montesano.

silver.... fish blue label plug cut herring(very tight role) 24" behind medium red and crome fish flash! (shorten your leader if the water colors up) use a 12" lead dropper and keep you stuff on the bottom... launch down @ friends, the best bit is the last two hours of outgoing!
