How long is your leader for sturgeon? I see some people useing leader from 1-2' to the bait and some 8-10' to the bait. Seems that a shorter leader in fast water and longer leader in slower water. What do you prefer and why?

if your worried about your bait not staying on the bottom, put a sliding sinker on your leader say a 1/2oz or more and it will keep your bait on the bottom.

I normally go after the big fish, and usually use a leader 3-4'. I think it is personal choice, but sometimes, we get fish on the drift when the sinker is skipping along the bottom. I think a longer leader is better in this case, similar to boondoglin for steelhead.
