Does anyone know how to de-stink breathable waders? I never let my waders dry out thoroughly and they end up stinkin'. I put soap on them one day and scrubbed them. It helped a little, but didn't get rid of the smell. I also got a small leak around the butt region. I'm ok unless I go into deep water, but I'd like to get it fixed. Can I use Shoe-goo on breathables to repair them? Thanks!

Shoe goo works , but is a short time fix. It will peal off in a short time. The best is the breathable repair kit.As far as getting the stink out! My wife soaks mine in the bath tub with detergent and then hangs them to dry..Seems to get the stink out well..TM

Those do it yourself car washes are good for wader cleaning, get your wife or a close friend(someone who will not laugh their head off at you) to go with you, put your waders on and have your accomplice use the power spray wand with detergent on you while you spin around. Be careful how long you allow the high pressure spray to linger on you crotch area though, unless you don't embarass easily. Then go for the brush w/soap and finally the rinse. THAT SHOULD DO IT! wink then take your waders and ski mask off( what!, you want people to recognize you?) and your waders will be squeeky clean!
To patch a hole in those same waders use Aquaseal, it's the only product that will do the job right. cool

Try Revive-X. Restores the breathability in all breathable materials and cleans them befor patching. NikWax also makes a breathable detergent to put in the washing machine with breathables. REI. Sportco, Sunbirds etc..

I have a pair of sims breathables that I have had this problem with. I cant get roe stains out of them. They are starting to get pretty crusty. I tried scrubbing them in the tub but it would come out. I was afraid that harsh detergents would hurt the gor-tex

Seam Grip works really well for all repairs.
You can get this at any fly shop.
I like the Bc wash for cleaning the waders.
You can pick this up at most dive shops, and I think it is cheaper for the amount.
