There is an article in the tribune today about the Hood Canal waste of Chum Salmon, the already "beating of a dead horse" issue of egg stripping. Interesting reading; will it make a difference? Probably not, but at least they published it. www.tribnet.com go to sports, then outdoors sections by using the menu on the left column.

Any article that has a chance of raising public awareness, is a good thing.
Without non-sportsmen support to stop these activities, wasteful/destructive fishing practices performed by the tribes will keep occurring.
Sure, this issue is a "dead horse" but this "dead horse" and other tribal fishing practices "dead horses" sure do stink. Just wait till the nates start appearing at Pikes street market, again, that come straight out of tribal nets.

Fish, Read as soon as i got to work today, totally sickening. I do not think the state will step in and do a thing. The roe alone is more $ to the indians than the fish, it is all a matter of economics. I will give you a call tomorrow about this weekend. Matt

we were building a house in alderbrook right in the heart of the fishery and those indians are the worst people. in some instances at low tide the nets are exposed and fish laying on the beach. on private property no less. but they do it for coho also. people have found up to 200 fresh chrome bright silvers on there beach front. the bucks are split open and checked for eggs also. watching that this fall made me sick, something has to be done with these people and there fishing practices.
