FJ, your going to be so happy with the tiller, you'll never want a console. "Center weight" faster plane, tighter turning, better vision, easier rowing, more room. I went with Herzog one day in his sled, it was alittle tight getting around the console or rowing. Loved his Yamaha jet, very quite!

G, got the tiller for all the reasons that you pointed out. Have been shopping as a fickle customer for about a year now looking at all the possible variables. Thanks.

Hey FJ,
Yep I've got a 16 Super Vee I just bought this summer. Over all it's a great set up but I have had some problems. Launching it in shallow water is a pain, better have someone around to help push it off, there a very heavy boat. It's also suppose to go in about three inches of water but I'm wondering how true that is since I've hit a couple of things that were deeper than three inches. And my final complaint is pray that you don't have any problems with your motor. Mercury is a pain in the ass to deal with. I've had two different problems with mine. The latest is the choke on it is defective but in order to find this out I had to pay sixty bucks to do a sync and link since the choke only acted up every other trip out or so. Mercury refuses to pay for this even though they acknowledge there was no other way to diagnose it. I think once I get the motor running right I should be happy. Hope you have better luck with your motor but as far as the boat goes Alumaweld make one very nice boat and trailer!

FJ, want to lauch your boat alot easier? Install Teflon or HUMW? board strips. Slides off and on real easy.

Thanks G,
How much of a pain to load without adding side rails to the trailer? Those nicknacks sure are adding up!

Strips? 1/4" thick, because you'll want to counter sink 2, S.S. flat head screws every 12". Width, same as the bottom bunks. Full lenghts. The HUMW? (don't remember the correct order of letters) is alot cheaper than teflon and and is sold to processing plants, ect. Check the yellow pages. I got my up in B'Ham at a Hardware Sales (360-734-6140). They'll UPS also. FJ, Bunks? If you got the money they are worth it when loading by yourself, (since Craven doesn't want to go with you ) Sometimes I leave my trailer in the river, when I'm done, I just drive my boat right up onto the trailer. This is when side bunks really come in handy, especially with the river current. Loads your boat straight. Also if it's not to late, Check into a SS jet impeller instead of alum. Alum impellers gets chewed up real easy. My 1st impeller was alum.
