A while back during a discussion about waders there was a suggestion that Patagonia SST breathables melt when they come in contact with DEET. I sent an inquiry about that possiblity and thought that I would post their response, for what it's worth.

Hi, Ron-

As you must know, DEET is a poison. It affects everything - bugs, people, and clothes. If you get highly concentrated DEET on your waders
(ours or those of another company), they will probably leak in that spot.
However, we might be able to help you through our warranty, whereas the other companies will tell you "tough ____".
In all sincerity, we have never had a single set of Waders returned for a DEET-related problem. The "problem" is found when a test includes
dumping 100% DEET on a section of the fabric, and this will eat right through ANY brand of waders. Our Waders are fine when exposed to DEET
concentrations that any sensible person would use. Of course, we recommend rinsing your waders with fresh water after every use; this will do a lot to extend their usefulness.
I hope this helps; if you have any questions please feel free to
call Mail Order at 800-638-6464.

I am glad to hear that. I dont use any Deet or related products but it is good to know that Patagonia will cover it. I think they have one of the best customer service(reason for choosing Patagonia, and price.)
