Gotta throw in my $.02 on this. I discovered Vanish completely by accident and I absolutely love it. Fished 3 rods out of my boat on a number of occasions for steelies last summer and had far and had a hook-up ratio of about 3:1 with the Vanish. Also caught a 15 pound nate--wildest, jumpinest fish I've ever caught and the line held up. Didn't seem to have problems with knots holding either. Improved clinch knot seems to work.

That said, I did finally start to break off a number of fish. When I switched line (to old fashioned Stren), I stopped getting the number of hookups.

The lesson I learned is this: Vanish (and assumedly other fluoros) help you hook up with more fish, but you've got to replace it often! I'm going to try using it as a leader for springers and change my leader OFTEN! I betcha I catch more fish than my buddy using chameleon (even counting the occasional break-off). I'm also wondering if I should try a higher test line.

Gotta do more experimenting with this.
