I was pulled over by WSP last week towing my sled back from the Columbia. I thought that I was obeying the law, but apparently not. The Trooper told me that any vehicle in combination (towing anything) must obey the 60 MPH limit for trucks (it is 70 for cars). I didn't get a ticket (I was doing 70), and he just wanted to let me know.

The problem is that I have asked another cop (a city guy) that exact question a few months back and was told that the 60 limit was only for commercial trucks. I tend to believe the Trooper, but does anyone know for sure?

Nice to know. I checked WSP in Vancouver just now and when towing a boat, you have to stick to the truck speeds. I've been soooo guilty.

If so, how the hell were you doing over 60? Were you being towed by a DODGE?

It only applys when there is a posted truck speed.

A lot of people dont realize it,but its also unlawful to use the left lane on a highway with more than 2 lanes in each direction.(When towing any kind of trailer)

Actually Hntnfsh, I am not completly sure that is entirly true. Will have to look into it. I know big rigs are not allowed in the inside lane on hills anymore. Not sure it applys to all trailors however. There are signs in places along I5, for example going past the T dome, but they seem to single out semi's.

Ford thinks so much of their cummins engines that they sell them off to dodge instead of putting them in THEIR trucks.

Sign on the freeway said, unlawful for vehicles with trailers over 10,000 lb to use the left lane. That was on I-5

OHHH yes it is true, I got a ticket pulling a boat in the far left lane, of a three lane hwy. dropping down into nesqually on I5. If you look it is even posted not trailers allowed in far left lane.

OOOOPS, thanks for the info. I am off to turn myself in to WSP for at least 300 Violations for going to fast while towing. See ya in about 10-15 years, or less with some good ass kissing of the guards with smoked fish.
