i have some store bought eggs that are already cured. what i wanna know is if i roll em in borax will they toughen em up or should i just tie em up in spawn sacks?

Back in my younger years, I tried some store cured eggs too. The only way you could make them LESS effective is add some banana extract.

OR, if you want to turn them into a true fish repellant, try adding some Dr. Juice.

That said, if you MUST use them put them in spawn bags. Might as well use 8lb Vanish for your leader while you're at it with a top quality Danielson hook.

Smart A$$ comments aside, plain yarn works better than those eggs. They are only useful as a practical joke.

If you need some eggs, try Pautzke's Balls-O-Fire in spawn bags. They work pretty good for steelhead. 4 eggs in a bag is about the size of a dime. Use a #4 or #6 hook. You'll get bit.
