I want to go clamming with a buddy up around the Dosiwallips area and I was wondering what kind of fishing opportunities there are around there this time of year. Is there any steelhead or salmon fishing going on near there this time of year? Saltwater fishing? Lingcod? Anything within an hour drive? Thanks for any info.

Hoodsport was slow last year and bunch of snaggers. Snagging half dead fish. If you go bring a full suit of armor . There are better places for kings, my 02.

Thanks for the information guys. I'll look into some of your suggestions. There's just too much water up there not to be fishing for something.

I made it to the HCHZ for chums last year. That was AWESOME. Worth every minute of the one hour drive. Are the king and coho fisherys not worth the trip? confused

Easy limits,
The Coho fishery has picked up but remember the Hood canal summer Chum and King salmon are listed as endangered so not much of a fishery in the north end of the canal. There is a bubble fishery south of a point I can't remember but it should be in the regs.It targets the clipped kings returning to the Goerge Adams hatch. The river fishery gets pretty ugly though,I refuse to partake.
