I know this was posted some time back but what are some of your fishing superstitions?? Heres a couple of mine.......NEVER PUT THE NET TOGETHER AND BARRY IT IN THE BOTTOM OF THE BOAT UNTIL THE FIRST FISH(that way you look like you dont know what your doing and you caught the fish by chance)......I HAVE A GREEN CHAMIOS SHIRT I WEAR THREW THE FISHERY, ONLY GETS WASHED 3 TIMES A YEAR(wife says it stays in the boat or she will burn it)......NEVER FISH WITHOUT THE DORKIEST FISH GLASSES I CAN FIND (then again people look at you and think you caught the fish by chance)

NEVER EVER talk about how good an eater one is until it is in the boat!

NEVER speak aloud when you see a fish is "barely" hooked!

Believe in MOJO--good and bad!

I have a thing about always trimming th etag end of my pre-tied hooks nicely..........I guess I do the same thing with my yarn too!

I think we all have superstitions - even those who say they don't. I always begin the day saying we are going to get skunked. Even when I know we will be kicking butt. It's just my way of keeping the fish Gods from thinking I'm too cocky.

NO BANANNAS ON BOARD OUR BOAT!! That is my biggy but thats about it. Keep em comin!

I crab fished the Bering Sea for about 10 years and we had a ton of them. Some may apply some wont, but they were all taken very seriously. Here's a few: No living plants onboard (draws the boat to land) Never open a can upside down. Never turn a hatch cover upside down on deck. Never whistle in the wheelhouse. Never bring a suitcase on board. (seen more than one skipper throw them overboard) And probaby the biggest one is never EVER leave town to head for the fishing grounds on a Friday.
