What did the river look like under the 522 bridge. How high was it there.

It was high but not blown out with a dirtier color than normal.

Floating Fool and I drifted from Sultan to Ben Howard and touched quite a few fish, although the only fish that made it to the boat was a foul hooked (Kwikfish with double trebles) hen that went back. A couple of long distance releases each and a few other solid bumps without hooking up.

Quite a few fish showing too, although not looking like what I'd call the best chum run in 100 years.

I should add that the fish we saw were medium bright to just plain ol' nasty. I figure of the 3 we hooked that we saw well enough to tell, we'd probably have kept 1, maybe 2 of them.

I did see two nasty looking snaggly toothed dark green and black bucks getting hauled back to someone's truck from under the bridge in Sultan. Dude, you got more cojones than me! eek

Drifted it last Friday. 18 takedowns, but only 8 landed (one coho) in a short day of fishing. Could have sat in one hole and caught fish all day. Couldn't go 10 min without a takedown.

Finally, ran out of time and said one more fish or 15 min. At the 7 min mark good takedown, a couple head shakes, fish off. At 14 min mark, fish on, landed a chum pushing 20lbs and called it a day.

All fish were hooked plugging bait wrapped K-15's. Skywalker, How'd you manage to foul hook a fish using a K-15?

There's some chum in Monroe. Fished Sunday afternoon and saw several caught on a jig under a bobber. They were all released, but most were in decent shape.

I fished the lower Sky Sunday afternoon. I had about 30 hookups on the Chums and brought in about 10 or 12. I started off without bait and I think every fished hooked was by a fin or tail which was the reason so many came unbuttoned. I moved to another spot and switched to a Spin-n-Glow with sandshrimp and every fish was in the mouth and almost all came in. All the fish after I swithed to bait were in better shape.

A few might have been OK for the smoker but most were pretty knarly so all were released. I didn't get any or hear of any that looked good.

Fished the Sky sunday also, the two that we kept both had sealice on them. So at the very least they had recently moved in from the salt. Both fish were bright to medium bright , that is for Chums. Lots of fish coming in right now. Bait wrapped plugs are very effective, I belive the trick is to really let the fish take the plug before grabbing the rod. We also lost several fish by picking the rod out of holder to soon. Yes the hooks were sharp.

I did the saturday and sunday thing on the Sky. We got into a lot of bright fish on saturday and sunday was a mix bag of fresh fish along with some that had color to them. K-15 and 16's were the ticket for us as well. And yes let them take it good and hard before setting back on the rod. It was a blast seeing you there Scfd 454. We need to hook up togeather and rip some lips. hello

Dirftboat: Caught that second one right after you pulled out. I suspect it was the same fish as the one that hit when you were loading up. This one had some spunk to it and and made a couple of long distance runs for the kid! CJ held his ground and we landed it across the river downstream near the bankie that had been working that lower strech of water. This one also had sealice on it.

i just got back from doing a little scouting on the sky and man did i see some fish the good thing about it nobody in site,i have checked here before and i have never seen anyone around but now that the water has come up the fish were everywhere in this area i knew this looked like a killer spot so tonight it just proved me right they where porposing(spelling is wrong i am sure just to tired to care) steady and they all looked fresh from what i could tell so i might try it tomorrow after work.all of the fish were in shallow water not out in the deeper part of the channel but close to shore i think i would be able to walk out in the river and throw a plug out and work it back and forth down stream and i think it would work well in this area.if i make it out i will post how i did, looks like a very good spot but i haven't fished it before so who knows all a guy can do is try right?anyway i didn't make it out this last weekend cuz i don't like fighting the crowds,i just can't figure some people out with all the silvers that were around earlier i sure didn't see the number of people chasing them as i expected but now that the chums are here wow the river is full of people maybe because most of them lack the skills it takes to catch something worth catching because these chums are so easy to catch, most of the people i see really don't have any idea what they are doing but they keep trying so you got to give them credit for that, instead of just tying a buzz bomb on and yanking them thru the holes hoping to snag one to take home.i for one am always willing to help out someone new or inexperienced anyway i can because it is worth it to see the look on there faces when they finally hook and land their first fish i have done this for a few friends of mine and it is something that they will always remember as it was for me when i was learning how to fish the rivers back in minnesota and wisconsin because i am mainly a walleye fisherman and i am just loving all the steelhead and salmon fishing here in washington i think i died and am in heaven i just love it out here, but the wife doesn't think so cuz i am so obsessed with it,all i think about is fishing now.but anyway sorry about being so long winded on this it might be from sleep deprivation i have been working some long days lately and it must be catching up with me i need to get back on the river so i can relax a little so good luck to all of you and keep them lines tight, later Bruce laugh

It was hooked under the chin, behind the gill plates. Just missed, I guess, or it may have come loose during the tussle and gotten hooked again.

I'm just yanking your chain a bit drift boat. I'd love to go out and fish, but alas, no can do this week or weekend.

Next week is Turkey week, and that is shot as well.

Oh well, looks like we might have to hook up on the Crummy in early December for some brats! You and I seem to do OK on that river! wink

Or, we need to hop in your sled and dogg up some Sky or Cow brats!

Sullie13: The green type colors work well, there are several combos of green, make sure you wrap them with sardins. You might want to start with a couple of colors, see whats working well that day. Look at the tip secton to see how to wrap.
