I am unfamiliar with the Skagit river. I would like to drift it if possible in my driftboat, but I need to know where to start and finish? Any suggested drifts?

Thanks!

The mouth of the Cascade R. at Marblemount to Howard Miller Park at Rockport is a good one this time of year. Lots of big nasty chummlies. The launch at Marblemount is just across the bridge as you go thru town.

Thanks I'll try that drift. Any others?

Good drifts are:
1) Marblemount to Rockport;
2) Rockport to Fabor's Ferry;
3) Fabor's Ferry to Baker River;
4) Baker River to Birdsview;
5) Birdsview to Hamilton;
6) Hamilton to Lyman or Black Slough, if open.
7) Old Hamilton Landing (or Loretta Creek) to Gilligan Creek.
8) OHL or Gilligan Creek to Sedro Woolley.

That's about it for drifts. Below Gilligan Creek, or even higher up, most Skagit anglers opt for motor power.

Sincerely,

Salmo g.

On a little side not I would recommend that you don't do Bacon creek to Sedro-Woolley. I think it was to far to do in a day with kayaks, we about killed ourselves and still did the last stretch as the moon came up.
