Ive heard that the Bobey/Clawah brat situation is not limited to just the Bogey/Clawah. I gues from the Hoko to the Lyre to the Queets its all the same. High effort and not alot of catching. There just arnt many fish or we all suck.

Im starting to think thats its over. The fish didnt show on any of the streems that I fish out here after the high flows as they should have.

The tribal effort is very low maybe the lowest I have seen and there catch per individual has been substanially lower than normal.

All the indicators say that it is most likely over. But you never know they might just be late.

I sure hope you're wrong Rich, but have to say its true. I was at one of the streams mentioned during the week and conditions were perfect. All signs SHOULD have pointed to that river being packed with fresh steel. It was packed, with fishermen instead and I saw a wopping 3 fish pulled out for the entire morning. Gotta admit it doesnt look good, but who knows...may just be late.

Maybe that's another reason why no one is really knocking them dead on the Cowlitz (home of the many brats) ! banana banana banana banana

This year sure has been a weird one, I fished the elochoman and the kalama yesterday and only seen one fish caught . The pressure on both rivers was moderate and still no fish. The kalama was producing some summer steel but thats about it . Talk to alot of people and everyone is really confused about whats going on and why the fish are not showing so its not just the cowlitz its everywere. Drift

I'm wondering the same thing. Reports from all over are pretty slow.

A lot of people say they are late ...

BUT they were here!

we pretty much spanked the tar out of them most days for almost three weeks ...

but now when it should be peaking, they are few and far between.

That's what has really got me wondering!

I didn't hear exact counts today Rich, but the word from Ron to Fishgal was still very slow.

Bad news to hear that the major brat factories to the south of us are in the same boat!

Confucious say......No worry my friend. I hate to do a 180 on this message but today was pretty good for me on the OP. Be back in a week to do the same. 2 fish by 9:00. Wish you could have made it Rich. Nothing like last year, but still some fish nonetheless.

Given that the WDFW has yet to close the terminal areas, I am not too, YET!

In past years (3 out of the last 5 or something along those lines) , the WDFW has closed the terminal areas until escapement goals are met and that has not been done nor have I heard any rumors of these emergency closures taking place.

So maybe there is hope...stay opptimistic!! beer

Got two "brats" -- hate that word -- and one a 13# hen on an OP stream Friday.
